hey all,ive tried the suggestions on here already to make a fsx.exe for p3d,but i still cant get the carenado Cessna C185 to install,i even went online and found a fsx.exe to download, will the 185 work at all?..or am i spinning my wgheels?..can i just copy the fsx.exe off my disc from my boxed fsx ?

You don't need a real FSX.exe at all.
You could even use a empty text file created with Notepad, and rename it "FSX.exe", and it would be enough to trick all of the installers looking for that file.
What does the Carenado installer tells you exactly ?

Dave,
All you need to do is install the C185 into FSX and then copy the C185 files and the gauges across to P3D, you can't miss them in the FSX gauges folder as Carenado and Alabeo label them very clearly.
Not great shots but both in P3D3.

Copy the fsx.exe into the P3D root directory then use the Registry Tool to set the path in the registry. The Carenado/Alabeo installers look for FSX in the registry before it will install an aircraft.

well the only one that wont install is the 185,all the rest went in fine.

ried differant things, all but putting fsx on this machine,,nothing worked, the installer comes up and simpley states "fsx not installed"

I posted this on the support forum over at Alabeo last September:

Ok this is how it worked for me for the 195 and all the rest:

Set the 195 installer to P3DV3.5 ( obviously set to the current version)
After it finishes installing, look in the program folder X 86
You will see folder called"Carenado Installer"
Open that and you will see all the files for the 195
Just copy and paste into the correct folders the files in the Carenado folder in P3d and you're all set

i may not be making myself clear,i tend to do that, lol, but once i click on the application ,r i guess it would be the .exe for the 185?..the file called CE1500X ... wonder if id typed 195 earlier??..opps if so,but once i click that file to highlight it,i then right click and tell it to open as aministrator and it thinks about it for a second or less and then a small box opens up telling me that "FSX is not installed"..and an ok buttoon, which closes it..all with nothing happening.

i again Rick, the root folder is just the Prepar3Dv3 folder under Lockheed martin? if so,thats where i put it,but i did it as "Fsx.exe"...should be or FSX.exe or fsx.exe or FSX.EXE?...this is getting frustrating to me...
