I just uploaded my FSX version of the McDonnell FH-1 Phantom to flightsim and simviation; should be there tomorrow. The FH-1 was not very successful, it was very under powered. Early American axial flow jet engines did not come close to meeting their design goals. Other early jets such as the Vought Cutlass were caught in this "power squeeze".
I modeled it anyway because I like the simple straight forward lines of the aircraft.
The FH-1 had an unusual Landing Light arrangement; the pilot had no switch in the cockpit to turn it on and off, it was controlled by tailhook position. Again, thanks to Rob Barendregt for creating a XML gauge that simulates that function.
Cheers, Paul
