FSX IL-76 with VC Joystick Configurator problems

Heya fella's, I have the excellent IL-76 (new one with VC),..it has a joystick configuration thing that I cannot get my head around. I dissabled the FSX Joystick then tried to configure it but A. cannot do it without FSX freezing up and B. cannot unlock the differential braking !. Its a fantastic model with nice VC but cannot move it an inch :(. I have been told a number of other Russian models have the same joystick utility such as the TU-134 and others...anyone here have any experience with unlocking and flying this awesome beast ?
