FSX & Scenery problem

Hello to All

someone happened the same problem as in the picture?

Checked already on the scenery list...

Thanks in advance

I get that sometimes when I delete a scenery folder and forget to remove it from the scenery library.:salute:

Your FSX scenery library points to a scenery folder which cannot be found on your harddrive. If you open your Scenery.cfg file, search for area.117 and there you will see which scenery is causing the problem (In Vista/Windows 7, the Scenery.cfg file is located in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX\ )

This is an example of how a scenery (Area) is defined in the Scenery.cfg file:

[Area.217]
Title=GER Bitburg EDRB <-- scenery name as shown in FSX Scenery Library
Local=Addon Scenery\GER Bitburg EDRB <-- scenery folder path
Layer=220
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE

There is a couple of things you can do, both can be done by using the FSX Scenery library interface or by directly editing the Scenery.cfg file:
- If you know where the scenery folder is on your harddrive, you can fix the scenery file path in the scenery.cfg file (Local=Folder Path)
- If the scenery folder has been deleted, then remove the entire Area.117 entry from your scenery.cfg file.

Hi (all) and thanks for the answers
I found this in my scenery.cfg

[Area.117]
Title=Longleat
Local=Scenery\Cities\Longleat
Layer=117
Active=TRUE
Required=TRUE

seems to default...

Ok, so the scenery mentioned in the error message you posted above. . .is that an active scenery or not? You're correct in that Longleat is a default scenery. If the Scenery in your error message is active, try deleting it from the scenery library. . .close the library, let FSX reload and then go back to the scenery library and "Add" that scenery again.

I love the Phantom splash screen you have. Can you repost a pic of it without the scenery warning window in the middle of it?

If all this does not cure the problem it is possible you have a corrupt Scenery.cfg file, this can be fixed with Steve Greenwood's FSTscenery tool.

Thanks a lot guys
especially for the patience

@Falcon409 - I deleted the area 117 from the scenery.cfg, also through scenery setting
@hschuit - I started (as an administrator, disabled UAC) the tools but it returns an error -35

but it keeps giving me that error ... :((((

@Bone

thank you very much

ok solved ...
as you suggested ...

I did not know that there was also the path C: \ ProgramData \ Microsoft \ FSX \

In fact, there I found another file with the damn scenery Area 117 ...

I was looking for in a classic place:
"C: \ Program Files \ Microsoft Games \ Microsoft Flight Simulator X"

Always look at the date on the scenery.cfg. That will tell you if you are looking at the correct file. This file seems to be in a bunch of places but FSX will only use one of them.
