FSX Steam update

Update just wiped out my GTN 750 and maybe some other things. Save your original exe before opening Steam. And if someone could send me their before update exec for Steam version that would be wonderful.
 
So far PMDG, GSX,FSUIPC,AEROSOFT AIRBUS, VA 737 MCP, OPUS, MYTRAFFIC6, SSW planes continues to work that i tested.

Orbx needs an update to peopleflow.dll thou.
 
Had Steam from day One..The GREATEST !..Ported over years of DISK FSX.. Was on cloud nine!..I did Purchase a plane ,No problem//I then Purchased their MANHATTAN X..The usual Steam way under extreme secrecy,pass words special codes.PARANOIA!....They Installed it...and in one minute they wiped clean my installed FSX Steam..Left me with the Purchased DL..that's it!..no scenery,Planes ,Controls..NOTHING..NADA...So I started my inquiry's with Steam,Making a long PAINFUL FRUSTRATING story Short...It was An Experience in a Cyber Space Insane Asylum...a Labyrinth of Dead Ends,pass words changing,Menes with not a clue, of what I was seeking.a VIRTUAL MINEFIELD!.. On Face book Finally got what I believed to be a Real Person..But Soon the Robotic Talk was there....I then deleted the whole thing STEAM FSX gone......Luckily I Had FSX DISK installed..a Mirror of The Loaded Steam FSX...So I still fly FSX,Did not lose my Sim Treasures....A horrible Experience..Sign of the Cyber age...The bad news Is I Lost what I Had And Liked,The good News Is I still have What what I like....moral here is TRUST NO ONE!.. CAVEAT EMPTOR ,BACK UP BACK UP.,BACK UP.my PASSPORT my most invaluable tool...Saved the day....We come a Long Way Baby since my First Sim in 1982

Anyway: Dovetail Games detected an issue with the update and go back to the previous one (Problem with scenery library if im correct). They say that will investigate and soon deploy the update again.
 
Am wondering if they already reissued the update? Mine just updated, and do not see any problems. I started FSX, but did not fly anything, as am in the middle of another task. But from initial observations, I am not getting any errors. NC

Thanks for the heads up. I hadn't been on FSX-SE in a couple of days and was going to run it. Might wait a day or so now.
 
I've started mine up a few times throughout the day checking paints and haven't had a problem with it.
 
Hi, as said before: DTGames rolled back the update. So nothing was updated in your machines today :encouragement:
They said that later this week or in the next they will apply it again after the scenery lib issue is corrected.
 
At least you guys can get on. I'm still stuck with "you must be connected to the Internet" thing and can't still get steam to work. Tried everything on their support page and nothing. Just put second request in.

i kind of think it may be my computer as one other program also tells me it can't reach the Internet, but everything else does.
 
I wouldn't recommend to deactivate the internet security.
It's probably your antivirus or some security program which acts as a firewall (Norton etc...) which is blocking Steam from accessing the network.
What kind of internet security (antivirus and firewalls, if any) do you use ?

Also, have you tried to execute Steam 'as administrator' (you know, by right-clicking on the icon and choosing that option to run it) ?

This is my worst nightmare of "Cloud based" programs. I have held off on Steam even with the glowing recommendations. Customer support from the aether, reading from a prepared script, often with an impenetrable accent. End user is the only QC in the process. What's ahead with Win 10 with MS's track record of incompetence? Ugh!!
