A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category FSX Military skins - Cold War

Description: This repaint shows VC-97D Stratofreighter 45-59596 in the late 1960ies, based at Westover AFB. Completed as the sole YC-97B, later redesignated C-97B and in 1954 to C-97D VIP. The only C-97B built with no rear loading doors and circular windows and luxury. In service until 1969. Written off 1973.

Manfred Jahn´s and Team Strat´s FSX Boeing C-97 V.1 Beta Basepack.zip and FSX Boeing C-97G/KC-97G Basepack Update.zip are needed.

These texture sets have been created with Manfred Jahn's excellent paint kit supplied from 'Team Strat'.

I served on 8th AF Command Crew -67-69 as a Hot Cupper, and I can tell you it had a spiral staircase going from the main deck to the lower rear compartment which had a wall to wall mirror making it appear twice as large, bar, and circular card table.

Top side aft it had a full galley, including a full size fridg and stove also a deep fat fryer...had many great times serving aboard this Great ACFT.

As the story goes, theis ACFT was bulit and designed for Gov Dewey, to be his AF one. Since Truman was elected, it simply was given to the Air Force and located at Westover AFB.
