Shalom and greetings all my pals.

I right now just discovered amazing new fact that the famous Alaska based airline called Northern Air Cargo actually operated C-131 Cargomaster!!!

I am curious to know if there is any terrific FSX version of C-131 or C-133 Cargomaster model base and if there is any Northern Air Cargo repaint for that plane?? I do not know what is difference between C-131 and C-133 Cargomaster?? Anybody can explain to me please??

Thank you for any assistance any of you can provide,

Regards,

Aharon

The Douglas C-133B was a Cargomaster, while the Convair C-131 Samaritan was the military version of the Convair CV-240.

There are several native versions of Tim Conrad's C-133B for FSX at SimViation, including -

1) FSX/P3D C-133B Cargomaster (Reworked 2.0) (Category: FSX > Military)

I have reworked the overhead and the flight engineer 2d panels and added more switches and warn lights to them! I have reconfigured some gauges in the VC, reworked a bit the flight behavior, added three fictitious textures, the new model modification by LLS and a "Flight engineer mod" as a selection to this version! Please take a look in the respective "Read me" file to get more info! Many thanks to Tim Conrad for his great C-133 sim, Philippe Wallaert and all the other unknown guys for the xml gauges I could use in the main and VC panel, LLS for the new FSX model modification, Dietmar Loleit for the TCAS, Halcyon Skies for the great C-133 main/overhead photos and Ken LaRock for the really nice C-133 flight engineer station photo (Sorry, I have forget him last time)! This is the whole aircraft, only tested in FSX + Acceleration!

There may be a Northern Air Cargo repaint for Tim's C-133B, but if so then I have not found it . . .

:encouragement:

Aharon, the C-131 was the military version of the Convair CV-240/340/440 series of aircraft. CalClassics had nice Convairliners for FS9 and FSX, but I think they moved all of their files to Flightsim.com, which is at least temporarily unavailable.

As a kid in the 1960s, I lived very close to Shannon Airport in the west of Ireland and the SNN VOR was a waypoint on an airway then known as Green One which lead from the Atlantic coast deep into Europe. Many aircraft tracking in from the ocean would pass over the that VOR and I would listen to their transmissions on an airband radio.

The discussion on the C-133 reminded me of the almost uniquely distinctive sound of that aircraft's engines as they passed overhead. Their pitch of their sound (I think due to the propellor blade tips rotating at near supersonic speed) often caused things to vibrate in the house and on still nights, you could hear them for about 10 minutes before and after they passed over!
