FSX@War errors - "Object reference not set..." Help?

Hello all,

I've been trying to get @War and CCP running, and I've run into a frustrating problem. When I run @War and enter the Tactical Reference Pack section and choose the base pack and then try to click on any object or weapon, it throws the error "Object reference not set to instance of an object". Sometimes it force-closes and sometimes it leaves me an error dialog window. I'll paste the full list of errors below. Since the @War forums are closed I've tried asking about this at the VRS forums and gotten one suggestion (re-install while unticking the "create shortcut" box), but no dice... still the same errors. If anyone has any ideas I'd be grateful!

Hi Doc,

Thanks for taking a look. I'm running FSXA with TacPack 1.4.3.4 (10.0.61637.0). I definitely installed @War as administrator, and I'm trying to run it that way as well. I'm not 100% sure I installed TacPack that way, though everything else seems to work fine with TacPack - spawning carriers, tankers, SAMs, the weapons systems on the Bug etc.

Think it would be worth trying to re-install TacPack as admin to make sure?
 
What version of FSX@War are you running.....and are you running any add-on theaters for it?
If you are running add-on theaters.....which ones and what versions?

FSX@War can be installed anywhere (i.e. doesn't need to be under any Program Files folder) but you should set it to run as administrator (for anyone who does not know how to do this..... you right click the file and pick properties and then, under the compatibility tab, check "run this program as administrator")

Hi Stub, thanks for chiming in. That's relevant information I should have included. I'll try to get it all in one place below:

Win 7 64 Pro
FSX-A
TacPack 1.4.3.4 (10.0.61637.0)
FSX@War 1.2.3
CCP 1.3.4.0 (though the @War errors happen even when CCP isn't installed so not sure this is relevant)
FSUIPC 4.x
No additional theaters or addons for @War... just the base pack.
All programs installers were run as administrator with Kaspersky AV closed, and the programs are run as administrator with AV closed.

I've tried rolling back that version of the 2015 x86 C++ redistributable packaged with the @war installer, no dice. I've verified I have .NET framework 3.5 installed (only 4.0 shows up in the add/remove programs list, but my registry has an entry for 3.5 as well). I'm running out of ideas...
