A good day to everybody! :wavey:

I just uploaded, to the 'CFS2 Aircraft-Italian' section, the long-awaited CFS2 conversion full pack for MVG3d/Piero Zazzetta's FS9 Macchi-Castoldi 205 Veltro Early Production (EP), Late Production (LP) and Hybrid (H1 & H2).

Four aircraft models and 11 strictly historical repaints by Manuele Villa and alternative "what if" semi-historical dp files with external payloads.

The SOH team responsible for this effort is composed by:

Manuele Villa, a.k.a. MVG3d;
Allen Downey, a.k.a. Allen;
Dave Slaski, a.k.a. Dvslats;
Bertrand Pillot, a.k.a. Beepee;
Giorgio Maragliano, a.k.a. Chalachew;
Mark Shelley, a.k.a. Shessi.

Included are alternative full disc and single blade prop textures and a Green Ghost-style DAP gauge-controlled exhaust effect.

Hoping you will enjoy it, now I can relax and.....:very_drunk:

Cheers!

Beautiful model! Out of curiosity, what are the chances of seeing this model converted for CFS3? If I'm not mistaken this one is related to one that was started for CFS3? I am willing to help with CFS3 specific files as needed. Dying for a proper 205 over there. That said I don't know how much work that would be, just wanted to make a statement of interest.

Hi Gecko,
The CFS3/FS9 conversion is a very hard job, there are many differences in hierarchies, animations, materials and "philosophy", a GMax model "born" for CFS3 needs much more modifications than a model made for FS9 (or CFS2), it is "easier" to convert an FS9 model in CFS2 format....
"My" C.205 is derived from Mr.Zazzetta's C.202 I converted from CFS3, Mr.Zazzetta never finished his CFS3 C.205, he sent me the source files for the external model only and I never used those source files. The very hard job was the completely remapping of the whole plane, the texturing in CFS3 planes is made on a single 2048x2048 bitmap while in FS9/CFS2 we use multiple 1024x1024 (or smaller) bitmaps. A "reduced" CFS3 bitmap (2048 to 1024) doesn't give a good resolution in order to obtain high detailed surfaces. The other "iceberg" are the gauges that are completely different, the CFS3 gauges are very similar to 3D gauges in FSX and, of course, not compatible with FS9/CFS2. A FS9/CFS2 plane will need the same work......

Stefano,

I know this was a labor of love for you and all others who worked on it. Thank you so much for this collective effort to bring it to fruition! :ernaehrung004:
