Fun at the airport

This afternoon with my schedule finally free I went for a bike ride and headed for Merrill Field. From the parking area at the university aviation building I could see the east end of the runway.

The most interesting case was a 206 with tundra tires doing touch and go's. With the wind blowing gently down the runway the conditions were perfect. As soon as the tires hit pavement it would slow to a full stop quickly. After the full stop it maxed power and took off. I don't think it passed the first taxi way entry on any of the runs.

Sorry, I did not have a decent camera with me, so I have no images or video. It was a great way to fill a little time on a beautiful day.

I'm envious.

I spent two weeks up in Anchorage a while back and was fortunate enough to spend an entire day between there, Lake Hood SPB and the museum.
