Functional weapons supported now?

I received a email this morning from Miltech about their latest release:

Functional Weapons are now supported in MSFS20/24
Our new M2K-C features a Comprehensive Weapons System, covering A-A and A-G Operations, based on realistic procedures.
• Air-to-Air: S550 and R530 Missiles, with visible shooting and tracking simulation.
• Air-to-Ground: MK82s and GBUs, along with visible and persistent impact effects, and CCIP HUD Modes
• Gun: Visible gun effects with tracers, and realistic sound effects
• Countermeasures: Realistic Chaff/Flares effects, featuring Manual and Automatic Chaff release programs
I was unaware about the change to allowing functional weapons in MSFS; or am I mistaken? I don't keep up with all the latest changes. If the above is true, I am wondering if other developers might update their models to drop weapons, i.e. Deimos's A-6 Intruder? That would surely be awesome! I know there will be those who say that if I want to drop weapons, then go to DCS. Yeah, yeah, yadda, yadda, yadda. I say having a choice is great! And I remain hopeful for the mighty A-7E Corsair II to be developed for MSFS, along with the RA-5C Vigilante!! NC

No changes in MSFS. This is Miltech hacking the existing MSFS systems to do a visual simulation of weapons. Similar to the way some FSX planes would let you simulate dropping bombs or firing guns.

My understanding (which could be wrong) is that Asobo only allows static weapons in the Marketplace, so the version of the M2K sold there will only have static weapons, although I don't know if Miltech is planning to make something available to make them "live".

The current vendor marketplace agreement clearly states, non-functional weapons are ok but everything that looks like an impact/explosion/gun flash is not allowed.

Well, maybe distinguish between what the Marketplace allows to be sold, and what's actually possible in MSFS. Remember Gotfriends' F-4F Wildcat
for 2020, that has droppable exploding bombs and machine gun effects (although all just a light show, no actual damage done). I doubt the Wildcat
will ever get sold on the Marketplace, at least with full functionality.

Whether there could ever be a VRS Tacpack type system for MSFS like there was in P3Dv4.5. that I don't know, I don't think it's possible at the present
time, but who knows in the future?

Based on my reading of the MilTech M2K-C weapons documentation (available on the MilTech website), it will be the same...weapon releases, travels to target (depending on your aim), light show and NO change. I believe it also stated nothing happens (no anything) in multiplayer. My magic "8" ball also says it will not change in the future.
