Future Gotha bombers

I'm new here so maybe this has been covered before. I was wondering if I am the only one (yeah right) that has a disire to go after heavy bombers such as Gotha, Handley-Page or the others. And Zeppelins. Piloting bombers or observing on these craft would be a trip too. To me there is just something extra about downing these large craft...nice big targets. Also there is the idea that they are on their way to drop a load of bombs and do damage to "our" side maybe killing plain folks in the process. Play the hero, save the day. Perhaps an expansion for P3 down the road? Now I sound greedy not even having played P2.
 
The Zepplin existed in Phase1, However the files were on Loan, there is no longer a Zepplin, owned by OFF

I also await the big bombers, however you need a pretty long runway to operate those babies.

And a pretty big hanger to keep it out of the weather

OFF has the specs, but not the time. . so we wait . .Someday :costumes:
 
I was building a Gotha just under two years ago...but had to stop due to a job I contracted...and had no time.

I would be glad to work on it again if it could be of use by OFF in the future.

I would be working on it in 3ds max 2009...I believe it could be converted to another format compatible with gmax or whatever the modeler package is that is in use for OFF.

If OFF has the specs on the instrument panel, that would be a bit of a help...but I have the plans for the plane...and most of the major parts are already done. I have it archived somewhere.

I wrote to Winder back in April and I think I got an email reply stating some interest, but nothing since.

I could not guarantee a time frame...just an offer to keep working on it when time permits. Better something than nothing at all. With the economics on a down turn over here in the islands, not sure when I will have to head out for that second job to make ends meet. But right now I can manage a few hours a week on it.

and always will be whether they are released or not by the OFF TEAM. THIS IS GENERAL KNOWLEDGE THAT HAS BEEN KNOWN FOR 2 YEARS NOW.

Gotha and Zep available

This aircraft is available for download through PD's missions, that have the Gotha, and or Zep in them. A new mission should turn up soon in SO > Addons > CFS 3 > Missions and Campaigns > Over Flanders Fields > "Thwart the Enemy" , where you provide fighter support ( Catch's favorite aircraft the DR1 used here), to the Gotha's.

Go to Addons here at SOH. You can either look through Campaigns and Missions; Over Flanders Fields or go to bottom of page and choose author's name: pilotsden and look through his missions that have the zep or gotha in them.
 
Perchance is that a flyable, landable Gotha, or just a challenging target

Myself, the Zepplin was of interest in Phase 1, when we flew Home Defence
No more Home Defense, but it is an impressive sight

I wish the Hanriot cockpit was refined . . but can't have everything :isadizzy:

Is at reg's hanger. We can thank seacondor and capt.winter's for this.
Also, at one time there was the possibility of another zepplin but it may be on hold.

Michaelws, many thanks for your kind offer. I am sure that we all would like a state-of-the-art Gotha, to complement the ones already available. I for one would especially appreciate one with a detailed VC.
 
VC = virtual cockpit? or....

Not a pilot here...need a dummies guide to terms.

I will dig up the old model...and see what happenes.
 
Well perhaps this is worth another screening then hehehe. Shows what the flyable Zep and Gotha look like for those interested. They are of course not officially sanctioned by the OFF boys but a lot of fun .... while we eagerly await further news ;)

I have the zepplin files on my OFF P2 DVD but unsure which files to drop them in on my PC. Can any one offer advice?

They go in your aircraft folder in main OFF folder
C/Program Files/Microsoft Games/CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields/aircraft
(that's assuming OFF is in default place)
