I seem to be missing the black out effect in some installs or aircraft, what governs these? are they specific to each AC?

There is the setting in the realism settings (on or off), and also the g tolerance value that the pilots have. Different pilots may have a different tolerance.

Yes, I have that set to on. I've tried some ridiculous dives etc over 400 mph and nothing!
