Hey guys,

I wanted to take a quick break from scenery building, and update a couple of campaigns for full auto-install. I am currently close to finishing Royal Australian Air Force, which is a popular one.

In the interest of providing authenticity, has anyone, or could anyone, modify the Val soundpack by Lawdog2360 for a twin configuration? I would like to provide the Nell with more authentic sounds.

What have you been drinking??? lol
Omega is not in the current international aviation and military phonetic alphabet... it is O for OSCAR!
In the phonetic alphabet used in WW2 up to Korea... it was never Omega either... (you know Able, Charlie, Dog... etc.)
when it comes to numbers... Currently, 9 is modified to NINER.... so as not to be confused with a like sounding number (FIVE)...
As a bit of trivia... BAIL OUT was also superseded... this was done because of a case in Korea where sound-alike words caused a mishap....
some crew members of a B-29 crew bailed out when station reports from all crew members to the AC (aircraft commander)
included the tail gunner's station... and the same said... TAIL OUT regarding a malfunction... lol

Description: CFS2 Sounds- Kinsei Twin Radial Sounds.

Here is a sound file for Mitsubishi G3M 'NELL' Bomber. It is setup for two Mitsubishi Kensei -51 - 1,300 hp 14 cylinder air cooled radial engines. This is a modified sound pack of Lawdog2360 Val sound.

..not to be a nitpicker here, but in the not too distant past (by my reckoning anyway) the Naval and Army phonetic alphas WERE different on some letters. IE Navy was "K" is Kilo, Army was King. "D" was Delta, Army was David, "E" was Echo Army was Edward, etc.
I originally had some problems in my career after the military as I would spell the phonetics in Navy and the communications people were trained in Army. What a joy that was!!!! To be a former squid in a Army orientated organization!!!!
In the book "Clash of the Carriers" there is a reference to this problem during the war and how even after there were differences.

I was radioman for many years (CX2AAA last licence) , It is not diferent army or navy , the correct is OSCAR , but may you can say it as you want, no matter army or navy. I used to say OSO for O, (means bear in spanish) . But when u are talking with someone from southamerica to asia (like Uruguay to east Russia) when i wanted to say I (India) i used IVAN , the russian understood me well LOL

I am a retired US ARMY field grade officer who retired in 1985... had served since 1960 (first drafted, 2 years in Germany till 63)... went to college and medical school (on the Army's nickel), served in Viet Nam in 1969... and continued serving until April 1985. IN ALL THESE YEARS... THE ARMY's PHONETIC ALPHABET FOR "K" was INDEED AND IS STILL KILO!!!
There was NEVER a "D for DAVID"... always Delta... In Korea, it was DOG... Now, I am talking about the US Services... only
I was too young for Korea or WW2... so I cannot dispute anything relating to that era..
My name was still up for recall during Desert Storm I... and I kept working for the Army as a civilian... both in Germany, Turkey, Egypt and Italy... still am in active contact with USMC station at 29 Palms and Balboa Navy Medical Center...
I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT IN OVER... we are talking come 50 years!!!... "DAVID" was never used by the US ARMY.... OR "EDWARD" instead of Echo... somehow, your sources I suspect might be apocryphal....

By the way... the word ORIENTATED is also incorrect... should be "oriented"... as there is no verb in the English language such as TO ORIENTATE... One "orients" a compass, gets "oriented" to a new assignment... etc.
Check further and you'll find out...

p.s.: I suspect "Clash of Carriers" is not an official publication...
