G940 from Logitech

Interesting, but other than the FF and the split throttle I can't see a lot of difference from my X-52 in functionality- certainly not enough for me to consider switching from a well-tweaked Saitek setup.

I did find THIS interesting tho':
Game support: Works with PC flight simulators including Microsoft® Flight Simulator X, IL-2 Sturmovik™: 1946, Falcon: Allied Force, Lock On: Modern Air Combat X-Plane 9, Enemy Engaged 2, and DCS: Black Shark.
No mention of FS9 although it may be a safe assumption.

i'd guess it'd be a safe conclusion, after all it'd be USB 2.0 and have to run with XP/Vista and the upcoming 7, i'll be sticking with my X52 for now, got 2 the thing connected at the moment, teaching my brother how to fly on FS :kilroy: acting as his Instructor fun times... so far he's trimmed the hedgerow at my farm strip, knocked my hangar flat and put a wingtip into my trailer! :isadizzy: lesson learnt....'never let younger siblings use your place'. this set up looks good, Logitech have came up with a great idea, and one thats popular so it'll be interesting to see who gets one here first and what they say about it, afterall the proof of the pudding is in the eating...

I have the X52 Pro, and upgraded from the standard X52 setup. And I hate them. They do not calibrate properly, I have driver issues, and nothing but problems. I simply have learned to deal with it. I would definitely consider switching to Logitech if they performed well.

I hope the potentiometers would perform well on their latest models, unlike what Im experiencing now on my extreme 3D pro. would be great if it's like CH quality with replaceable/repairable Parts

$300 actually seems reasonable to me for all 3 components since I would be replacing analog(!) CH joystick and Thrustmaster pedals. But the proof is in the feel--it has to be perfect or I'll regret every minute I spend on it.

I tried to make the move to USB with a Saitek stick and throttle set a few years back (looks like the X52 in blue and silver) and couldn't stand the feel of the stick and buttons, so back to Fry's it went. Too futuristic for my tastes (I'm into FS, not Wing Commander).

CH had a nice-looking USB F-16 type stick, but it felt all wrong. My CH Flightstick Pro and CH Pro Pilot (circa 1995?) have proved to be old reliable friends. :cost1:
