Well, guys: It's done!

After releasing the CS 104 in the German Navy scheme, the GAF's first metal finish and the "Norm 62" camo pattern, here comes the Norm 83 "Lizard":

It's '26+44' of Jagdbombergeschwader 33 (Buechel AB), 1984 version in ""Norm83" camo. TCE compliant. Aircraft was license-built by Messerschmitt in 1971 (c/n 7304) and put into service with JaBoG 31. Sold to Turkey in January 1989.

Definitely not one of the "fastest" schemes the 104 ever wore...

Uploads done.

Enjoy!
Cheers,
Markus.

Very nice. I'm partail to the original gray/green splinter scheme but this final one does grow on you. I like the Jabo 33 insignia on the tail as well. Brightens it up.
:ernae:

Markus,

that's got to be my fav so far, great scheme and glad I've got this version (CS) to get the good of all your paints.

kind regards,
Jamie

<--- Downloads new GAF repaint, adds to "variants", runs TCE... Done, then! I don't even give it a second thought. If I see one with your name on it... it gets installed.

Markus -- You work is nothing short of outstanding! Giving new life to my Capn' Sim Manned Rocket.:salute:

Thanks for your superb repaints...

How could I stop painting with such kind and encouraging comments?
Thank you!

And since I do love the "Norm 62" scheme as much as Frank does, here comes the next one:

It's a quite unique scheme, as this one bears crests of two units:
The tailfin sports the badge of "Waffenschule der Luftwaffe (WaSLw) 10" (weapons school), based at Jever AB. In 1967 (status depicted), this aircraft was assigned to JaBoG 36 "Westfalen" (Rheine-Hopsten AB) with the respective unit's crest of the "Westfalenross" showing on the air intake. The pre-1968 code "BB+..." still belongs to WaSLw 10.
According to my sources, this aircraft didn't receive a new unit-based code which should have been "DF+..." ("D" for Jagdbomber, "F" for the sixth fighter-bomber wing), because in 1968, the coding system was changed to a type-based one. This particular aircraft was coded "24+42" then, belonging to JaBoG 31 at that time.

Here's the real one:

Soon to be uploaded...

Want a JaBoG 36 double feature?

2630_3.jpg

As you might have noticed, this one sports the post-1968 aircraft code and the bilingual rescue lettering.
No oddball like the twin-crested BB+236, just a regular (and quite worn) ship.
Note the white marking lines on the tailfin, obviously showing the horizontal stabilizer's trim limits.

Time for a nap, will be packing tomorrow!

Dangit!

Quite at the very last minute before uploading, I've found out that BB+236 actually was a RF-104G recce version!
Due to the lack of an accurate RF model (no gun, baggy camera compartment instead of the gunshell bay), these lens covers and a small ventilation grid are all I could do to depict one of the fastest cameras ever built:

Hope you can live with this compromise...

Markus.

Hi Markus,

I must say that I agree with all the well derserved "cudos" offered here (and elsewhere) for your paints. And, although I don't currently have a 104 in any of my hangars, I am enjoying these posts of the "the manned missile," and admire your work. Thank you for your contributions to our hobby. :salute:

P.S. re BB+236, most of us probably wouldn't have known if you hadn't told us! BUT, (I know) you would have, and that just would do, would it? :icon_lol: Good work.

Thanks again, fellas!
This feedback still means a lot to me!

Glad I got these paints rolled out, as I'm a couple of days off now:
Heading towards the Baltic Sea - despite the real frightening wx forecast... :wavey:

Cheers,
Markus.

Back to the sleek and elegant bare metal scheme again:

DC115_2.jpg

DC115_6.jpg

DC115_3.jpg

DC115_5.jpg

It's DC+115 of JaBoG 33, Buechel AB, 1963 blank metal scheme.
Aircraft built by Lockheed Burbank, c/n 2072, delivery 1962.
Transition code was KF+147, then to JaBoG 33 (Fighter-Bomber Wing) as DC+115. Re-coded into 20+62 in 1968, sold to Turkey in February 1986.

The early F-104G of JaBoG 33 have had a quite unique marking:
Besides the JaBoG 33 Wing's crest on the tailfin, they wore a ribbon right behind the nose cone. This specific aircraft was assigned to No.1 Squadron ("1. Staffel"), sporting the red ribbon and crest of this Squadron. The pre-1968 code allowed the exact allocation of the aircraft:
"DC" stands for JaBoG 33,
the first digit of "115" shows its affiliation to the First Squadron of this Wing.
DC+115 was the only F-104G of JaBoG 33 with the nose ribbon overlaying the antiglare coating.

Here's the real deal:

Uploads proceeded.
Enjoy!
