    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

I recently revamped my computer to have a ASUS M3A78_EM mb that supports a 140w cpu and 8 gb ram. I have an AMD 6000+ Brisbane, nvidia 8800gt (most current nvidia drivers), 550 watt psu, 4 gb ddr2 ram, sp3 xp pro, installed dual core optimizer, and game config set to the old groundcrew specs. Ok, this is what happens:

Game stutters more than before, 70% of the time it locks up and sometimes I can use the window key to get out or usually requires a reboot. This happens with all of my CFS3 installs.

I have win7 as the computer is a dual boot but I do all my design work in xp and would like to test it there. Win7 side seems ok.

I have a hd4870 card ready to install, so just wanted some advice. Would hate to install the card and the problem persist.

Don't know if it helps but I use an ati Radeon 4830 on a ECS Mainboard A780GM-A and get excellent frame rates with all settings max with vista 32 bit. I don't use the dual core optimizer.

What if you just went with the default config settings ? (except scenery sliders) I know the tweaks were designed to help with performance but since you should not need them maybe using them is effecting things in a negative way......
