Game shows movie and sound and then stops at screen with pilot faces. I see no buttons but my cursor looks like a circle with a line through it. I have patched and lowered all settings.

3.0 single core pci
2 megs mem
8400gs card

overrides checked are
dual pass
terrain
disable scenery
disable shoreline
disable water reflection
disable terrain text ring
disable water animation

i have tried safe mode but still nothing

what font size are you running your desktop at? normal is 96 dpi but if you're set for 120 dpi to make it more readable this may be your problem...the menus may be off the bottomof the screen

in Vista it's under 'personalization' either right clicked on the desktop or from control panel....can't remember where it is in XP, probably display settings in the control panel

In overrides, deselect dual pass render. Select high resolution Z-buffer and disable validate device.

You might also put a check into the boxes next to disable write-only vertex buffers and write-only index buffers.

Have you patched your CFS3 install to 3.1 prior to installing OFF? Just mkaing sure that when you say 'patched" you mean CFS3 also.

still not working

ok, I have tried the dpi thing and checking and unchecking the boxes in override that were suggested. I do have cf3 updated as well. What exactly should I be seeing on the screen where the game is stopping? Should there be buttons on the screen with the pilot faces. This is the one right after the movie. Also, should I have cf3 in the dvd at the time?

Scoggy,

I had some initial issues with BHAH when I first loaded it up and tried exiting in a non-graceful manner and also when I tried to run without the CD in the drive. CFS3 pops up a dialog box that interferes with BHAH operation if you exited improperly when you last ran the EXE. I you haven't tried it already, try running CFS3 (no BHAH) once (fly a QC momentarily) and then start BHAH and see if it works. I've also had some success with the RESET CFS3 button in workshops.

Lower the Config sliders right down to number 1 and try again. If it starts after the 'Ball and Barnon' initialisation screen, then its your video card struggling to render the detail you've set. If it does start you can gradually ease up the sliders until you peak. Keep clouds down anyway.
