• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Gasping for clean air.

Wow! That looks very surreal. I hope it blows through quickly.

Reminds me of Arizona monsoons. Those in AZ for any length of time will know what I am talking about. In the 70's we had dust storms last hours.

reminds me of dome of the dust storms out in Iraq/Kuwait, surreal yet theres a beauty to it ...
Ditto on that Smoothie. Used to get in/on everything, no matter how good you had things button-up. Could not imagine having to deal with it in your own house and car.

It's blown out over the Tasman and caused a bit of hurried rescheduling of flights - nobody wants to fly an airliner through that stuff.
We should get a spectacular sunset in Auckland, unless it rains out along the way.

I could see it beginning to move in about mid morning up our way, so I closed every window and external door and ran the air-con all day and into the evening. All clear this morning (thank heavens). There's some very dirty cars running around the place today.

Wow! That looks like the fly-over scenes from the end of "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome"! I live in southern Arizona, so dust storms are nothing new to me, but I've never seen anything that looks like that! Pretty awesome!
