First off, I'm not techno savy on the terminology. So please over look the way I explain.

Is there any setting in the flightsim that will allow me to view from overhead, the numbered gates, ramps, and cargo areas throughout a given airport. Something that I.D.'s them all?

Short answer, no, there's no function like that in FS. There is an addon however that will give you the info you want. Install Airport Chart Viewer and it will give you a map of the airfield that you are interested in.

You'll find it at this link....

You'll also need the Service Pack, this reads the the airport info from FS, like the Data Base creator for FS Nav. It's easy to run just read all the documentation and you should have no problem with Either program.

Link for the Service Pack is here...

Hope this helps:ernae:

For U.S. airports you can download free instrument approach and departure charts from a number of sites. All the large and many of the medium sized airports also include airport diagrams showing taxiways, etc. They're in PDF format...easy to print off and stick in a binder. Here's the site I use most....
