• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

Gee, another Bee

Mick

SOH-CM-2025
Coming :censored:

OK, I won't use the "S" word.

But as you can see, there's not much left to do...

Oh man! Another Gee Bee! There will be room in the hanger for it.

Thanks Mick!

This is the Model D, and it will be one of a set of all the single-engine Sportsters plus the two-seat Senior Sportster.

We'll have the Model X, B, C, a C partly converted to a D, the D pictured above, the radial-engined Model E (possibly on skis as well as wheels) and the Model Y.

David and I have previously released the Model A biplane, the Model Q Ascender and the Model R Super Sportster. Wozza made that outstanding Model Z "City of Springfield" and Tom Eads released a great QED way back at the beginning of FS9.

When everything's done we'll have every plane Granville Brothers Aircraft ever built, though we won't have every livery that all the Model As wore, since they're not all documented.

Our Springfield Airport scenery will be a very busy place!

We've been working on the current batch of Gee Bees since last autumn. The original plan was to model the in-line and radial-engined Sportsters, meaning the Models D and Y. Then we decided to add the single-seat radial Model E. Then we thought about how we could do the rest of the in-line Sportsters with just a few changes from one model to the next. So like most of our projects, this one grew like Topsy. We were further slowed down by my need to deal with cancer treatment (going pretty well so far...) but we're finally almost finished with the Model D, and the others shouldn't be too far behind.
