• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Hybrids aren't just for fuel economy any more

GENEVA (AP) — Hybrids aren't just for fuel economy any more.
Ferrari and McLaren both on Tuesday unveiled sleek hybrid supercars sculpted from carbon fiber at the Geneva Motor Show.
LaFerrari is the name of the new special edition Ferrari, meant to be the definitive. "Owners say they have a Ferrari," Chairman Luca di Montezemolo said. "This is THE Ferrari." Montezemolo said the electric engine has a performance appeal that is proving a draw to Ferrari owners.
Only 499 of the models will be built -- and some 700 people, many of them Ferrari owners already, have registered interest meaning a tough selection process. It has a top speed in excess of 350 kilometers per hour (217.4 mph). The price tag: €1 million ($1.3 million)...Yer Average mans car Who cannot afford to Fill Er Up...Going GREEN....What Hypocrisy!!....BUT!..I love it...

I've collected some photos of cars launched at the Geneva motor show in this thread: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?76262-News-from-Geneva

And the P1 here: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?76082-The-new-Big-Mac

Read today that there have been about 700 people interested in the P1 as well; only 375 are going to be build though..

The big Ferrari's (F40, F50, Enzo) are only sold to those fortunate enough to have a history with the brand and own (At least) one other Ferrari.
