Talking Flack

Morning all,this ''flak'' aka ''ack ack'' topic is interesting,i never see any aircraft hit by flack,is there a way to up the loss count?
alcanallen.

Actually, I had a go with the Kugelblitz the other day - from the gunner position, the gun and gunsight don't seem to train. One gun and the gunsight stays where it is, as does your eyepoint, and another gun goes off where you thought you'd be going when you moved the joystick. Is it just me, or is there more to it than meets the eye...?

hi alcanallen,
there is a parameter called "noise" in the xdp for each gun. Eg under the Guns folder you will find an xdp for 88mmFlak gun. ETO puts quite a high noise parameter for the 88. If you drop the noise parameter down to say 1.5 then things would get interesting when you fly over a V1 site in the north coast of France.....

Noise in this case would be better described as "scatter".

Then go to the vehicles folder. Take the xdps for several AA weapons, eg 88mm flak and 40mm bofors. Look for the ratelimit parameter. It is in the set of paramteres for each gunstation. The 88mm ratelimit is too low. Beef it up to 25 or 30. Set the 40mm Bofors to 30 or 35. Combine the edited noise parameter and the rate limit, and you are in big trouble.

HTH,

Hi ndicky,

give this new line in German PanzerIV Kugelblitz xdp in Gunstation. Change the first line there.

<GunStation UpLimit="70" DownLimit="55" LeftLimit="180" RightLimit="180" RateLimit="30" SystemID="upper_turret_gun" Tracer="100" Trainable="1" Trigger="0" Type="30mmmk108_gun" Name="upper turret gun" ConvergeDistance="0" Pitch="0" MaxAmmo="800" UseSmallFlash="1"/>
