The FS9 versions of the SNJ-4C and the USS Monterey are getting their final shake-down as they are being prepared for the upgrade to the SkyUnlimited FS9 Texan/Harvard package. In addition to adding the tailhook and tail wheel guard and putting the pilots in Navy flight gear, we have added a new air speed gauge by Dwight Furleigh which does airspeed in knots instead of mph. The new visibility switch system allows you to turn the landing gear pants on or off. As a special bonus - we've licensed a copy of Bill Leaming's custom sound system which means all of the switches and knobs are now really "clickable."

For folks who already own the FS9 Texan/Harvard package - this will be a free upgrade. For those wanting to purchase the package - the price will remain the same as it is now.

Another extra added

Someone over on the SkyUnlimited forum asked if we could put in a gear warning horn in the SNJ. They had seen it in training videos of the actual SNJ. They also mentioned that the default Mooney Bravo had a similar warning horn.

Well it proved to be a bit more difficult than just copying gauges from a default airplane into ours. Thanks to some custom programing provided by Fr. Bill, we now have a gear warning horn in the SNJ. If you pull back the throttle to idle while still in the air and the gear are up, you'll get a really annoying warning buzzer. It's not loud, but it does motivate you to quickly correct the situation. Either add throttle or lower the gear.

I'll be checking with the experts to find out if this warning horn was used in the other variants of the Texan/Harvard besides the SNJ. If so, you can look forward to getting buzzed.
