Ok....I have been lurking here for sometime now and for the most part kept my mouth shut, and I should probably continue to do so but I think it's time I throw my two cents in.

First and foremost....To Pol and Crew, I congratulate you on what you've done to keep this era alive. It is a monumental effort you all have done to bring this to us. I have no doubt that you and the team is very frustrated at the current state of affairs with the release.
I worked in the software game industry for several years on many of the Jane's titles. I feel your pain, especially when the public is waiting with baited breath for a cut of the action. Stay strong gentlemen and again bless you for providing us with this great add on.

Now with that said. I'm going to step on some toes.

The development team doses not owe us anything, not this game nor any explanation as to when it will be released. Between Heaven and Hell belongs to them lock stock and barrel, if you bought it right now you still wouldn't have it for several days due to shipping, so sit back grab a cold drink :friday:and relax. The bloody game will be here when it gets here and we will all be better for it.


They have been more than gracious to let us know how things have been going. They even gave us all free copies of the proto type that is a great working title all on its own.


For all those here that have been waiting patently and adding good solid feedback and content to this forum I apologize if I have offended you, it was not my intent.

I’m just sick and tired of seeing the amount of disrespect for this group of dedicated gentlemen who have spent the last 4 years of their free time building such a fine addition to the WW1 flight sim community.

Now I’ve said my piece, I’ll shut up and get back in the cockpit.

Not more to be said, i was alsow shocked to read about the pol that there is posted out here. anyway: if they want to post it on Torrentz then there is nothing to do about it if i individual will do this but to the team i am sure for one thing it is idd disrespectful to them if they do that
 
Agreed, I know I haven't been waiting as long as most on here but still, the team are doing their best to bring us the finished version of a fantastic title, it is the least we can do to let them get on with it in peace rather than constantly hassling them to give us more info. Hell, how do you think they feel? I can only imagine how it must be to have spent so long working on something and to finally get it finished only to be delayed by the publishers!

The other thing to remember and be grateful for I guess is that the dev team have already played the game. Imagine if it was one of us who picked up the DVD's, you'd get home and think 'yeah, why not, I'll just install it and have a quick play.' 6 weeks later you'd remember that there was a massive stack of DVD's gathering dust whilst everyone else waited for a go!:wiggle:

Please don't be shocked - we are trying to see how best to get OFF P3 to you as soon as possible - and Torrent never will be tolerated - I said that in P1 and P2 - no change for P3.

And yes disk printing and distribution is still the main way we will sell OFF.

But it seems fever pitch levels of disappointment are starting to reign here on SOH and we are trying to show you guys how committed we are to getting OFF to you as soon as possible - hang in there.

TBH this will be the last post on this matter from OBD - the POLL will remain open, so guys please vote - it seems downloadable payware is the futrure and we are keen to see how many of you have broadband - and we will also use this info for the future - if there is a P4 etc

what i want is to get P2 starting up but there i have already a problem and thats for me now more shocking this is not only a game that i want to play but there is alsow an folder in the OFF P2 that contains a solvation to the online problem on vista but i need a working OFF P2 game for some kind of reason i cant get started up i posted a thread on OFF formum i hope that some one can help me out, and P3 i'm gonna wait on that one a little longer first i want to get P2 in the air and getting online with my CFS3 original and add ons and then im gonna look further on to get P3 in the air

I humbly appoigize to Winder I didn't relize that you were part of the Dev team. Another reason I should keep my mouth shut.
 
While I agree that the development team is has done all they can to bring OFF 3 to us and it's now in the hands of the publisher. I can't completely agree that the harping and impatience isn't mostly the dev teams doing. I mean come on they've been taunting us for several years now with little sneak peaks at what a tremendous leap OFF 3 is going to be. Pol's movies showing the beautiful scenery and the vastly improved AI leads one to believe BHAH is going to be greatest WWI sim to hit the market to date, of course people are anxious to get their hands on it.

Well I can't speak for them but I would feel good. That all my hard work had been vindicated by all the people clamering to get there hands on it. I've probably one of the least patient posters on the board and I'm glad they are looking into making the program downloadable, more and more software is being released this way as more and more people have access to broadband internet. The only hesitation I have is them having access to enough server and bandwith to make it a viable alternative (servers and bandwith are expensive) But I'm still pleased at the effort these guys have put into the development of this sim and I can only hope I'll be even more pleased when I get my hands on it.
