It has been a while since I last posted here, but the Global AI Ship traffic is alive... We just released V3 with around 1800 ships and the ship traffic divided into regional folders to optimize performance.

It is available here:

AI Ships, Boats & Global Traffic for MSFS (flyawaysimulation.com)

and here

Global AI Ship Traffic MSFS GAIST Ultra V3 » Microsoft Flight Simulator

The models have also all been prepared for an upcoming real time version in collaboration with AIG and German marine website fleetmon.com

For the real time version we will have a special addon for Navy ships which doesn't emit AIS signals and we are preparing models for that - this also includes bringing some of the classic models from Sim-outhouse into MSFS like below Gary's HMS Illustrious and Alberto's F101 from the Spanish Navy.

And well, while many things can still be better in MSFS visually the sea has got an impressive lift

One of the best addons in MSFS, does a lot for the general atmosphere. When V3 came out I was just upgrading my PC but it was among the first things I downloaded for FS when I had things up and running again.

I am about 60% around the world with the DC-6 and when I have visibility of the seas I really love spotting all the ships I pass. It's very cool that they are displayed in LittleNavMaps so you know where to look.

A big thank you for all the work flowing into this. Hard to believe this is actually freeware.

This is exactly the way I hoped it would be used :D In the modelling now we go very focused on creating more diversity to exactly give something new to see, where ever you go.

The ferry from Porto Seguro to Arraial d'Ajuda in Brazil will be in V3_1, which we are already testing...

Next update... US Coast Guard will be added in the next version, which we also think will coincide with the Real Time edition for MSFS of Global AI Ship Traffic. We are adding the most numerous classes Sentinel -, Island -, Marine Protector -, Reliance -, Legend -, 47ft Motor Life Boat, and if someone can help me find decent drawings of the Famous Class - I only have a side view - also the Famous Class... They add to the Bay Class and the USCG Eagle already included... The different models are in different stages of completion, but here some screenies...

As some of you have probably read I have decided to remove my files from Flightsim.to, well, hmmnnn... I tried to remove, but it was denied, and then I helped starting a fire... And now Global AI Ship Traffic is gone from Flightsim.to and so is my trust in that site. Sad because it was a nice convenient site for users, but monopoly and skewed Terms of Service are not good things.

You can for the moment find Global AI Ship Traffic V3.0 here https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/24877/msfs-ai-ships-boats-global-traffic/ and on simviation.com

We are almost ready with Global AI Ship Traffic V4.0 and Global AI Ship Traffic Real Time... more to follow.

Looking good as usual :)

Looking very much forward to version 4. I've just reinstalled MSFS, and was thinking about waiting for version 4 before getting ships back into the sim. But maybe v4 is still far off?

I had to delete V3 as is was causing CTD's any time I flew near an area with AI ship traffic. Hoping I can reinstall it at a later date.

GAIST improved coverage for Australia

Here is Australia we have very active harbours in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
Suitable moving models (and the local ferries particularly in Sydney!) would be welcomed.

Also up the east coast and Great Barrier Reef there are MANY marinas with lots of motor cruisers and yachts actively working with the tourists in the area.

I'm currently doing an around Australia tour (based on the GT Australia from Got Gravel discord site) and can't help but notice the lack of marine activity.

A small update...

The GAIST Real Time is kind of asleep due to our data partner being acquired by another company with other priorities.

GAIST however is definitely still alive, though I have a busy real life so recently not much time apart from modelling when travelling on business and having to kill hours on intercontinental flights or alone at the hotel room. But new ships are added to the collection and suddenly we will release...

It is good to hear from you, Henrik. I will be looking forward to adding to the fleet.
Have you given up on the USCG Forward Class?
