Golden Hawaii Installation question ?

Crusader

SOH-CM-2022
After years (I mean years) of absence I decided to install Bill Lyon's Golden Hawaii back into my FS9 . The only version of FS9 I presently have is a 50's-60's using Tom Gibson's CalClassics . I will probably continue to keep FS9 mainly due to the excellent CalClassic's aircraft/scenery era . I loaded Golden Hawaii which put the scenery and texture folders in the proper place and also placed the switcher program "goldenhawaii.exe" in the Scenery/Ocen folder . I then made a shortcut of the goldenhawaii.exe to the desktop . When I switch to Golden Hawaii then start FS9 the GH flights are listed but when I start at PHNL the GH scenery is there but so is the default scenery as well . Question: is there a file(or files) I need to disable to get rid of the default still showing up ?

Rich(Running Win7 64bit)

I just found out that I would probably be better off to install GoldenWings3 then load Golden Hawaii into GW3. This would eliminate the hassle and frustration of trying to incorporate GH into my already heavily modified FS9 . "The Old Hanger" is certainly an excellent place to find answers to flying in this era .

But keep the aircraft that came with it.

Terry:

Do you mean the original default AC(737 ,172 etc) that gets installed with the GW3 installation(that gets deleted) or the GW3 AC that gets installed ? I presume the latter , right ?

If you have a separate Golden Wings installation you can have your entire FS world depict the Golden Age era while your original FS9 depicts the classis era. (That's what I have - a GW3 set in the pre-WW2 years and an FS9 set in the late 40s - early 50s.)

If you set up a separate GW installation, there's a way to make Golden Hawaii a permanent installation without losing the areas of the Pacific (like Australia and New Zealand, if memory serves me correctly) that disappear when you switch on Golden Hawaii in a standard installation.

With Golden Hawaii active, go to the scenery\ocen\scenerytb folder and copy all BGLs EXCEPT those listed below into the scenery folder.

Do this before you install any other Hawaii sceneries into your GW. It's best if you do this as part of setting up GW from scratch.

I meant the Golden Hawaii aircraft.

Thanks Mick and Terry . I really appreciate your input on making this an interesting and enjoyable era setup to fly in .
