I''m at a dead end because I apparently dont understand what I should be looking for actually looks like:

STEP 7:
A. Rename the FS9.exe in the GW folder to FSGW.exe. Send a new shortcut to the desktop from fsgw.exe. Right Click on FSGW.exe desktop icon. Under Properties change the icon to the gw.icon provided.
B. Find the fs9.cfg file in your Documents and Settings/User/Application Data/Microsoft/Fs9 folder.
C. Drag a copy of the fs9.cfg file to the Macromedia folder.
D. Rename the copy to fsgw.cfg and drag it back to the fs9 folder.

So, starting with "B" ... exactly where should I be finding this and does it actually read "fs9.cfg"

I have everything else ready to go (I think) ... just hung up on this part.

Thanks!

C....maromedia folder... btw was just a handy folder to temporarily place the .cfg before renaming it and then moving it back.

Under XP the FS9.cfg file will be in a hidden folder...so first make sure your folder options are set to show hidden folders/files. Then look under: C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9.

Once you find it...forget about the Macromedia thing. Simply select the FS9.cfg, right click, COPY, right click and PASTE. This will create a new file called Copy Of FS9.CFG. Select that file, right click, RENAME, and change the name to FSGW.CFG.

If you are running Win 7, the FS9.CFG will be under C:\USERS\NAME..whatever name you use on your profile thingie\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9.

Again, this will be a hidden folder, so make sure Folder Options is set to show hidden folders. Once you find the FS9.cfg, do the right click copy and paste, then rename the Copy of FS9.CFG to FSGW.CFG.

Thanks guys.

Hey, Tim ... how ya'll doin'?

BTW ... I used to wonder why anybody would fly around in FS9. Well ... after having the thing sitting in my "game box" for years ... I loaded it up.

Never said I was the fastest gun in the west ... some of us just learn later than others. I'e been flying the beacons in my "new" C-46A all over the CBI. Quite a challenge.

Thanks
