one of the most intense bombing uses of the Cats was in the early stages of the Aleutian Campaign during WWII which some have called the 1000 mile war....they threw cats and other amphibs against the Japanese occupied islands and lost quite a few....it was a hairy hair raising close in effort but the Cats were what they had available. those were and are some of the greatest planes ever. Great pic and nice to see the oridinance in action.

Everything was that color prior to 1950, even my mommy and daddy. I have pictures to prove it...lol. Nice shot.
