Dang, I got CFS2 installed on Windows 8.1 with a 980 card. Thanks to the forums I was able to get rid of the checkerboard and the lines in the sky. So far the only way I can edit anything is by having it installed on an external hard drive. I'll keep whacking away at it.

Sad to see some of the real greats have passed on. They left us some really great work to remember them always.

I was a mod and then staff for awhile, work I was not really ready for. I really did not enjoy that. Somebody from another flight sim was messing with Lindsay's trees and somehow Lindsay really got the dirty end of the stick. I left after that. Messed about with a train sim for too long. I built 3 routes that took about a year each. That was ok, but driving trains is really boring.

Great to see so many familiar names still at it. I think I even saw a few posts by Dirty. I still get a chuckle from the photos taken when Drew went up to visit him!

Cheers All .... Rick

Rickyo: Open your Control Panel and goo to User Accounts. Turn User Account Controls to the minimum (off) and that should allowyouto make the changes to files.

Hello there, bud! Yeah, I have user account set to it's lowest setting. Problems started right off the bat, all CFS2 files were not installing. I believe there were 64 or 65 folders installed. One of the missing folders was cfs2 config. I have many old discs with cfs2 stuff on them. One had "stock cfs2 folders", and I was able to find the missing folders there. It is working. I downloaded one of the latest campaigns that had auto installers. I messed that up real good! One aircraft was a naval officer with binos. Tried him out in free flight, and he flew real nice and even had guns! I'm sure I had double entries of files in the mdlnames and maybe others. It will take some time to get use to this again. For now, at least I can see and fly the sim. That's a start!

Nice to "see ya" Greg, cheers....Rick
