Only on 2D panels as these are generally made for 4:3 resolutions, not 16:9 like a wide screen. Older games that do not support the screen's native resolution might get somewhat 'streched' as well.
I have a 22" widescreen and am generally very happy with it; wouldn't want to go back to my old screen!
Here's a screenshot I took on my 22" 1680x1050 resolution monitor (Reduced in size) as you can tell the moon is still round. The only slight stretching you will notice is in the 2D panel and mainly in the gauges; they will appear slightly oval. It's not that bad and I hardly notice it since I do not use a 2D panel that often.
In FS9 you will get gauges in 2d panels that are not perfectly round but your VC will look fine. For games that don't support widescreen you have a feature in your Nvidia config that is called "scaling with fixed aspect ratio". This will scale the image to use the full height of your widescreen but width will be limited to prevent distortions.
It does look like a Good Deal I was a bit apprehensive about the 77% 5 egg rating but after reading all of the ratings that rated it low I would discount all of them but 2. Two people sounded like they knew what they were talking about but my guess is if they are having a problem then they need technical Support and warranty work as no one else seems to have a problem. As for the others one of them was discounted when they stated the buttons could have been placed better. Who whines about the adjustment buttons. Set them and forget them.
Price wise it is a winner for sure this one goes on the list of monitors that I am watching.
