It's always interesting to come across aircraft you've never heard of that kind of turn your head. I stumbled across this one on Facebook today and was immediately intrigued. This one variably goes by the name Kohl Mythos, S.A.I. G97 Spotter, or even Skymaxx (though I'm not certain on the source of that last one). From what I've gathered it's an all-metal, cantilever wing ULM/LSA/Advanced Ultralight with 71% span slotted flaps, side-by-side seating, and is powered by the ever popular Rotax 912. Kind of looks like a cross between the old Thunder Gull and RANS S-12 Airaile ultralights. It isn't clear if it's available in kit form, factory built, or is even currently in production at all, but I do like the looks, apparently superb visibility, and the pusher configuration.

There are pics out there if you Google them and a few YouTube videos, so it has seen some production and flight time, and here are a couple of links here and here (this last one apparently is the designer's page. Most of the pics are in the Archive section...)

Looks like a Kohl all right, albeit a fairly fancy one. Kohl offered some of the better experimental kits and a few ultralight models. The Firestar was very popular. Knew a couple of people who built these. Always considered building one myself. Good STOL characteristics and decent wing loading for better flight in rougher air.

I believe that those are the Kolb family of American designed and built. strut-braced, tube, fabric, and composite ultralights and LSA's you're thinking of. They certainly look similar, but this aircraft originates in Germany and is of all aluminum construction (save for the cabin enclosure)...
