Good screenshot software?

I agree with Astroroth...Snapper RULES! It's easy to install, very small in size, no frame rate hits while taking screen shots, and it's fast. I have my Snapper set to take screen shots using the Print Screen key....as fast as I hit the button, Snapper takes the shots.

3 votes for Snapper! I've been using it for a long time now and I'm totally satisfied with it. And it's free!

I've been using Grabber 2k v98e for the past dozen years. It has the smallest TSR footprint of any program, using less than 2k of memory (hence the name!)...

MultiGrab by Martin Wright has been my choice since I got CFS2 when it was released 2001 IIRC. Simple but effective, never had any problems at all.

Hi,

Snapper +++++++
And also the options provided +++++++

i'm asking this because i don't know, so if you laugh, i'll understand:

why not just hit the "V" key and let fsx do it for you?

Slightly off-topic:

With Snapper, is it possible to take screenshots with another key than "PrtScreen"?

Either change the key that takes a pic in Snapper, or
Change the button that takes a screenshot to the clipboard in windows XP.

"PrtScreen" is "Fn" + "PrtScreen" button for me, so I need both hands. Exciting and potentially quite unsavory to take boths hands off on final for those shots just before touchdown... :173go1:

Thanks for any advice.

Gunter

PS: Windows XP home edition premium, french version.

I just use the printscreen key by itself. As we used to say in the Navy, "No muss, no fuss, it don't even rust".

if additional software then Snapper is the first choice if you use boris russian bloom (print key will work it will save screenshots in FS9 root directory)

Snapper (no I don't use it yet)

Will also take a screen shot and place the nearest airport ICAO in the picture. I can see where that would be a nice little feature from time to time.

I use primarily the Registered version of Fraps for in game screen shots. I use Snapshot Version 4 Search for it at AVSIM as another screen shot program. Fraps only works in game. It does not take screen shots of your desk top or other applications you might need a picture of.

Yep, Snapper allows you to pick the key that you want to use to tell it to take screen shots. I used Print Screen since there is little chance that I will forget which button I am supposed to hit to take a screenie....I have to go into my assignments list from time to time to refresh my memory about which buttons I need to hit for various in-sim tasks.

Another vote for "Snapper" - easiest, quickest, simplist, free... adjectives aplenty for this little package! I've tried others since the beginning of my FS9 days, but always come back to Snapper! At least with the camera sound, I know I've taken a shot... others you never know until you exit the flight to see what you got!

Rapidshot is my tried and trusty snapper, but I make use of the pro version of FRAPS for the utility functions it has built-in.
:applause:

another point for snapper are the nice overlays with flight location
I think no other programm is capable doing this:)

Cool! That's what I need.

I have searched and searched in the settings page of snapper, but I can't see any place where I would be able to set the key that triggers a screenshot.

I must be blind... :icon_eek:

Please give me a hint how to set the screenshot key.

Thanks!
