• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

I would of like to see one that looked like that X-plane DC3 but that would be more then using the crayolas - a new model or gauges would have to be remapped to fit format
of FSX, I would think.
 
And then some. Freeware comes from a love for the hobby itself. Those more experienced provide a better bouquet IMO.
 
The instruments certainly are nice. Since I spent 90% of my time in-cockpit they certainly are an attraction.

On the other hand there's either a lot of artistic license or some sketchy modeling in other parts.

- I've searched several hundred DC-3 photos and have yet to find any with that large, chunky top intake on the cowls. There are multiple variations but the modeler must have found a one-off to copy. (I'd be happy to see a photo)

-Again, there are numerous versions of ADF 'teardrop' antennas but this one seems 'off'.

- Paint schemes are 'artistic' but when reproducing a known aircraft it's nice to be somewhere between 'close' and perfect' . the paint of Buffalo's C-FLFR.. well I can't find an image with that wide fuselage stripe anywhere http://www.airliners.net/photo/Buff...1026760/&sid=2e805e68f2c3328b493d441527701272

-I don't know (or care) about the pricing of X-plane models, but for $40 I'd sort of expect a DC-3 to have a right-hand pax door or a left-hand pax door or a left-hand cargo+pax door but this one seems to be infernally hard to load...

-speaking of one-offs, it's nice to see a model of the sole DC-3 amphib, but the mis-proportioned wheels do detract... http://www.dc3history.org/floats.htm

...but the panel looks nice.
