Hermann Göring's older brother, Karl, migrated to the United States. Karl's son, Werner G. Göring, became a Captain in the United States Army Air Forces opposing his uncle's Luftwaffe during the Second World War. He participated in bombing runs over Germany. Göring's younger brother Albert Göring was opposed to the Nazi regime, and helped Jews and other dissidents in Germany during the Nazi era. He is said to have forged his brother Hermann's signature on transit papers to enable escapes, among other acts

You missed part of the Wikipedia article...

"Göring's nephew, Hans-Joachim Göring, was a pilot in the Luftwaffe with III./Zerstörergeschwader 76, flying the Messerschmitt Bf 110. Hans-Joachim was killed in action on 11 July 1940, when his Bf 110 was shot down by Hawker Hurricanes of No. 78 Squadron RAF. His aircraft crashed into Portland Harbour."

More about the Fortress pilot, that was interesting...

"Capt. Werner G. Göring was the nephew of Nazi Reichsmarschall and Commander of the German Luftwaffe Hermann Göring. Ironically, during World War II, Werner G. Göring piloted B-17 Flying Fortresses on 48 bombing missions against occupied Europe.
Werner Göring was born and raised in Salt Lake City. The young Göring spoke fluent German. After an extensive background check, he was assigned to the 303rd Bombardment Group -- Hell's Angels -- of the 8th Air Force, based at Molesworth, England. This fact was kept secret by the Army Air Force during the time that young Göring flew missions against Nazi Germany. However, the AAF still assigned him a "uniquely qualified" co-pilot -- First Lt. Jack P. Rencher. Rencher was given orders to shoot him if he ever tried to land in Germany. According to Rencher, however, the only time young Göring wasn't eager to rain destruction on Nazi Germany was when he had to bomb Cologne, where his grandmother lived. "He was neat, clean, a sharp dresser and in every sense military minded", Rencher said. "While I served with him he and I got along well together and I believe made an excellent team. I know of no one I would rather serve as copilot with"." Danka Wikipedia... :kilroy:

I am open to correctionhere but I seem to remember that the British fighter ace Stanford Tuck shot at and damaged a HE111 over England. It dropped its bombs and fled for home.
The jettisioned bombs fell on an army training camp. There was only one casualty. A young Soldier was killed. He would have been Tucks future brother in law!
