Recently my 8800 card went south and I replaced it with a 9800 card. Everything works find, except I have a curiosity that I would like to pose.

In the hidden AppData files for MS FS9, there is an XML document named "dxdiag" that still shows my 8800 chip set.

<ChipType>GeForce 8800 GT</ChipType>

The last dxdiag I ran was Dec. 31 and I had the 9800 card in then? Is there some reason for this. Of course I was using the current forceware drivers. I am not in terror, I am merely an inquisitive cat!

I'm guessing but it may just be a legacy report - if running dxdiag produces the right hardware report now, all should be well.
I would remove the previous video card entry from the fs9.cfg file though.
In a previous incarnation I had an ATI card still listed which I'm sure messed with an Nvidia replacement.
Oh, and remember to face East when you do... :d

Yeah, I've had vid card entries build up over time. Just delete the one you do not need. You could delete all video card entires as FS9 will just rebuild the missing relevant entries.
