Graphics card question.

SOH Staff .."Bartender"
I am planning to upgrade my computer later this year with new MB and CPU as well as more RAM. At the moment I am running an nVidia GTX 670 graphics card which runs P3D V4.5 well but when I tried V5 it wouldn't work saying something about DX12. What would be the minimum spec graphics card that would support P3D V5? Not looking for top of range as I intend that to be part of the upgrade.

Any advice much appreciated.

I think you probably need at least an NVIDIA GTX970 Pat.
P3Dv5 would seem to need a similar spec as FS2020 and that would be linked to the DX12 requirement.

I have the GTX 970 TI and I am getting tons of 'Device Hung...' errors. If the upcoming hot fix solves this issue, I plan on evaluating how well my two cards do with V5. I have looked at an upgrade card. The consensus seems to be the RTX 2070 Super for bang for the buck. You can get it for $5-600 USD in the US. I don't know what it will cost you in Australia.

I ended up with a pair of GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Turbo 11GB cards John, as I was space restricted by the MoBo design.
In the A$ (aka the Pacific Peso) they came to $2200.00 each, bearing in mind that we get a crappy exchange rate: US$1.00 costs us A$1:20+/- change depending on what day it is.
And of course, buying ANYTHING in this area is almost impossible due to lack of supply and the COVID19 lockdown.
Even online is a hassle for the same reason.

Wow! 2080TI cards here are running $1100-$1200 USD. The extra 3GM VRAM would be nice with V5.

I am running V5 with a 1080ti card, and a I7 8700k CPU. I am running the sim at max settings. No hiccups. Everything runs smoother. A LOT cheaper than a 2080 card! NC
