Great aircraft for Korea (to build)

I remember building a plastic model of one by an old model manufacturer, who remembers FROG! Now that dates me.

I was chuffed to see an AEW Gannet at the Yorkshire air museum.

I had that one too Jeff! The pilots head was moulded into the fuselage. Happy days, sigh.

Found out recently why they were called FROG - they started off making flying model kits -

I remember Frog! I always wanted the gadget they called "Spin-a-prop", which was a tiny electric motor, the same as in the Dinky Spitfire, embedded in the nacelle. There was the Beaufort and Ju88 with it, if I remember rightly. Never got it. That ruined my childhood, and I felt deprived and disadvantaged, so I turned into a vandal, hooligan, yobbo and headbanger. Then I left the TA and came to France.

Funny that CMR should bring out a resin Gannet now. Revell have just brought out what must be the ultimate Gannet. And it's cheap.

Great site Jeff, those box artworks are just wonderful.

I've still got the Dinky Spit and 109 with that propmotor, I remember that you could never get batteries for them! It was a really obscure size, like 2/3 of an AAA

Always thought you had a yobbish streak Nigel, now we know why :icon_lol:
