I've finally worked out how to set up the config on this game. I had been running in 800x600 16 bit mode. I now play at 1920x1200 32 with Planes and effects at 5 {Truck explosions are wonderful! Gonna have to find another and screenshot it}, Clouds at 1 and Terrain/Scenery at 3. I get 29 fps while taking off. I've seen it go as low as 23 and as high as 59 {>9000'}.

Stunningly Beautiful. I thought the 800x600 looked nice, but at 1920x1200 it will blow your mind.

Finally got a kill confirmation. I've always been a target for nasty bureaucrats and it seems the AI of the BHaH Bureaucrats is even better than the pilot AI. This is NOT a complaint. One of the things I disliked about combat flight sims was getting kills became ahistorically too easy {Leave never reducing your time at front; damage models and laser accuracy guns making kills guarranteed, etc}. The claim system seems to work well.

The historical research is fantastic. Jastas changing to Bavarian designation. Morale and pilot skill changing with the progress of the war. The depth of the game is utterly amazing.

Do you get promoted as time goes on? I haven't lasted long enough to find out.

Since you are new to the forum, a little advice- ignore the curmudgeon. Everyone else does.
Sidestory- my wife once stopped an argument we were having dead in its tracks when she called me an old curmudgeon. Of course I couldn't retort until I looked it up and by that time it was too late so she won that one.
 
I don't mind curmudgeons. Reminds me of my grandfather. They provide a lot of comic relief at work {Paramedic} when they call 911.

Also my wife wears a Grumpy sweatshirt and is going through peri-menopause symptoms that leave her in a homicidal mood. A curmudgeon can't hold a candle to her.

As far as the curmudgeons's comments go, he has a point but he read my post wrong {or I wrote it wrong}. I have read the tips and cheats thread. My problem had been being unable to locate where to change the screen resolution. It is not exactly user friendly but seems to be due more from CFS3 than BHaH.
