Beana51,...........wonderful old photos! I plan to go back and forth on them a few more times. Now,...if it was only possible to somehow jump into one of these black and white photos for a few hours,...or a few days,...and experience the sounds, sights, and smells of that time. For sure,...I'd be standing next to a 4-4-0 or 4-6-0 steam locomotives idling at a depot.

These are just wonderful! I had to bookmark the site so I can share these with a couple of friends who are into photography, thanks for sharing them Beana51.....:applause::applause::applause:

Nice find. You'll notice that most of those come from the Shorpy website, which has new ones every day - a regular stop for me while browsing. They even have the occasional great aviation pics.

Thank you very much for posting Beana51, truely wonderful pictures. The capability of the photographers was amazing.

Well, I appreciate the link to Shorpy. However, I spent the last half hour, trying to register for the site. Part of the process is you have to unscramble a word from a sentence. I give up! Cannot figure how to do it. I've tried typing the words as shown, but that doesn't work. I've tried making a word from the letters shown, with no success. Then I thought perhaps the entire phrase must be a puzzle, and that's when I had enough.....NC

I don't want to highjack Beana51's thread here, but register on Shorpy? I never had to register to see the pics, so don't quite know what's going on. Bizarre!

Love this....

I know exactly where photo #48/Hot Springs, Arkansas "Roadway in the Pines" was taken. If you look carefully you can see the back of the Arlington Hotel. Incidentally, this is now entirely hardwood....not a pine in sight.
