I was wondering if the Great Wall of China is in the default FS9 install..i havent found any info one way or the other yet.... if not has anyone made a add on? I think i saw some posts last year about someone making some addons for Tibet including the sacred city of Lhasa and the Potala Palace... i am interested in finding as many of the significant world monuments in FS9 as possible, i know the Pyramids are in there but not sure about the Acropolis in Athens or the Taj Mahal in Inida. Any info on some of these including the Great Wall very welcome. I will be exploring to seek things out myself just thought i would ask here too.

I suppose others that would be nice would be Easter Island, Machu Pichu in Peru, maybe some of teh Mayan cities, I did find a Stonehenge and some of the large Dark Age pictoglyphs in England, wonder about Angkor Wat in Cambodia, or any of the Hopi cities in the US..... or the other cities in Egypt like Karnak... I like to explore and have studied Archaeology all my life so thought this would be a fun project to find or maybe even do some add ons for.

Tick the box for Acropolis,Taj Mahal, and the Easter Island statues, they're all present.

You will need to turn down your autogen to find the Ester Island statues!

IIRC there's someones web-page that shows all the archaeology wonders of Fs2004

FS2004 Exploring Our World - Part 2 - Easter Island, Chile. In part two of this new series you will find a complete makeover of Easter Island which MS virtually ignored. Designed to compliment the fine Mataveri International Airport by Daniel Rojas (SCIP_O7.ZIP), this package includes mesh and adjusted coastlines by John Young. John has also provided a new AFCAD which removes unrealistic pushback starts. A new landclass file by John Burford adds the villages near the airport and more realistic ground treatments. You will also find numerous scenery enhancements using objects from the Rwy12 and EZ Scenery libraries. Francisco Vargas has contributed a set of thermals which soaring fans will enjoy. Of special interest is the use of AI Volkswagens, as taxis driving around the airport and AI helicopters that take visiting tourists on sightseeing tours. The AI Volkswagens have been provided by Ranier Girbig. Easter Island, home of the mysterious head statues (Moai) has many new and exciting things just waiting for you to explore. Even the small adjacent Moto Nui Island, which MS forgot, has been added. Project compilation by David "Opa" Marshall. (See also EASTERUP.ZIP)[/SIZE]

thanks very much

ys i found the Easter Island one, i have some LAGO sceneries but not the main enhancing part. so i am not sure if it will work or not.

I found a FS 2000 scenery for Angkor Wat with the temples not sure if it will work yet.

Also found Tibet, have not found the Acropolis or Taj Mahjal yet, are they in the default install?

thanks very much for the replies will keep digging and will look for that site.

Athens Acropolis is there i know that i fly over it every day in FS Takeoff from Eleftheros Venizelos (LGAV), officially Athens International Airport, and fly west heading to the top of the high mountain ahead. This gives you a great overview of the city. Fly to the city centre where you will see the Acropolis :salute:

thank you appreciate that info about Athens.

i have found some more sites, and it sounds like there may be at least one Mayan pyramid already in default install, not sure yet:

world for outdoor prayers (it can accomodate 60,000 worshippers). Marble domes cover
seven prayer chambers. Features floral designs on the stone, photoreal textures with

FS2004 Scenery--Nazca, Peru. Nazca, in Peru, is a strange place indeed. It has lines
and figures drawn on the ground that have lasted a long, long time. The area is arid,
receiving very little precipitation. A lot has been said and written about these lines,
most of it by people with a very fertile imagination. Nonetheless, the lines on the
ground are intriguing, and make you wonder who made them and why, if they definitely
couldn't see them. There are no mountains in the area that can be climbed for a view.

i have found castles and stately homes for the UK, quite a bit of Europe, some ruins and temple but no Great Wall yet. I was just thinking has anyone done detailed cities for Oxford and Cambrige UK? that would be nice to see. ScotFlight does some good historic buildings for Scotland and i found some of the Welsh castles but almost none for Ireland yet. will keep diggnig. the most glaring absence is no mayan ruins yet.

thank you Robert that is a great list, very helpful...now i dont have to look for those :)

much appreciated. I have found maybe about 80 differnt historic sites, temples, buildings, castles, etc. but some are FS 98 and some are FS2000 neither of which always work right in FS9 will have to see if i can convert and updates some textures.... and i had to go far afield into some of the French and German sites... but found some neat resources... thanks for all the help here, and i hope to find more
