That Vulcan footage brough back some memories!! :salute:

Thanks for these Nigel, a brilliant selection of videos.

Nothing like the sound of that big Bristol Centarus radial in the ol "Beast". All of those videos were top notch. Thanks, mate! :ernae:

Happy Easter!!!

Nigel, thank you so much for this great bunch of videos. One of my favorites? The Canadairs in action.

Cheers,
Maarten

Finally had a chance to play all these videos. Thanks for sharing them in one spot Nigel.
Art Scholl pulled the same stunt on the commentator for the ABC show "Wild World of Sports" which his wife Judy showed to me and a few other PPL students during a X-mas party a few years back....never gets old. Rumor has it that a new set of pants was needed to continue the shoot :wiggle:

Tatoi, Greek Air Force Museum (2006).
In order from left:
1) Mr.Nikos Daskalakis (a Greek friend of mine, he started my passion for FS some years ago)
2) Mr.Matteo Arrotta (an Italian friend of mine, Greek airplanes great repainter, look at Flight-Sim)
3) ME
4) The F-104 "Olympus", one of the finest celebrative Starfighters in the world, designed and painted, by my friend, Col. Nikos Manousakis, ex-squadron leader and last '104s Greek pilot (he painted this plane for the last flight).
:salute::salute::salute::salute:

i love that Olympus scheme! is "Tigri" also still at Tatoi? might have to make a visit there in the summer.... if i recall she was parked next to an Aegean Blue F-5 and also the really Bright F-5 (Scheme name avoids me at the moment)...

i can believe that, getting pounced by anything is terrifying... ask Nigel about the RF-4's :icon_lol:

(icon:pounced!!!:icon) Don't ask, I'm telling you, pounced is hardly the description!
Yesterday I twice had the 'pleasure' of Smoothie's RF-4's (two to be precise) up to their little tricks (over would not be as precise as 'at') my 'quiet' little country abode.
It's been a long time since I last saw an F4 from 'intimately' close up, big ships aren't they? Almost like an articulated truck!
YES, Gents THAT close up...and the din at afterburn, THAT loud!
When you arrive in Greece, I'll have to congratulate you, Smoothie (icon:another brewery:icon)
My wife, Chrissa also has a little present awaiting you (icon:frying pan:icon).

yeah i figured i'd get the frying pan treatment :icon_lol: still a couple blows to the head and i might start thinking normally again :icon_lol: oh yeah the Phantom is big alright, makes a heck of a noise coming past as well... darn i love that old girl... HAF is planning to keep them on hopefully into 2020! :jump:

Yeah, I'm learning to appreciate her finer points too (the Phaniom's, I mean)...yippee on the 2010 and if you have similar hearsay on the Canadair cl-215 then you will make my day!

not sure on the 215's as the HAF have expressed an interest in the Be-200, same as if i recall the 2 contenders for HAF's next combat aircraft is between Sukhoi and Eurofighter... either would really make the Turks worry a bit :icon_lol:

i'm just off to go find me a sea fury :icon_lol:

More recently, following transfer to the RN, she had been used as a source of spares to keep VR930 airworthy. Hi Smoothie,
I'm actually working at Tatoi's base on the ILS/VOR system (the real one, not the simulated!), I'm not sure the "Tigri" is still there, maybe it is recovered somewhere.....
However the Olympus are in bad conditions, the paint is completely matt and the hydraulic system and the undercarriage are gone :frown:.......

:salute::salute::salute::salute:

shame about 'Olympus' she deserves some attention... only visited the museum once and that was a few years ago now... as i say i'll more than likely be in Greece over the summer to catch up with old friends so i guess i'll find out whats changed... i miss Greece...

Hope we keep the 215's!

Nigel, you should check over at Britsim.com, there is actually a further update for the Sea Fury there (v2.6 I believe), which is well worth getting.

Nigel, Y'all have to stop distracting me!!! Now I gotta go and fiddle with this one.:isadizzy:

So far have swapped my prop from the Swordfish for the "propeller.bmp" and added some animation:
prop_anim_ratio=1.215
visual_damage=1
