Ground snow mottling

Now that winter is here again, is there a better 'detail1' file that makes less blotchy and colorful snow? The same pixel patterns that make nice dirt and grass variations to me are awful where snow should be more uniform white. I've tried several other files but ground snow still looks like it was sprayed out of a rainbow paint gun. If nothing out there works, I'll start fidgiting with ENB settings but would rather not. Thanks for any ideas.

Hello Aeromed, you might take a look at the one from Drzewiecki Design. It was included in a grass texture freeware that was offered last summer.
