Grounded

Hi Guys,
There is something wrong with the throttle function in my fs9. This affects all my aircraft. For example, when I select the default flight or any other, the aircraft throttle immediately slams into full, I can manually cut it back, but soon after, the throttle visibly pushes out quickly to full again. It is not my CH Flight Sim Yoke as this happens when only the keyboard is attached. More unbelievable, even when I have cut power to the aircraft, I have observed the throttle slamming into full throttle, on its own, (could this be Yamamoto's revenge?)...:d

There must be some gauge or other that is causing this, I just don’t know. I have recalibrated and done a new mapping of the CH yoke, have fresh installed the fs9.cfg file, have tested with and without yoke hooked up, but the throttle just keeps on pushing forward on own accord, with the resulting high revs sounds of full throttle. Never encountered this before but it happened the first time this week after I installed and when I test flew the Alphasim Typhoon and Spitfire. This makes me think a rogue gauge may have caused it, but I stand openly to correction if proved otherwise. In any even, fs9 is effectively grounded until I can sort this out.

THANKS FOR THE HELP IF POSSIBLE.

Planes-11,

It could be a driver conflict. If you have another keyboard, can you swap them just to test? I don't have the Flight Yoke so I don't know anything about it but if its possible, try uninstalling it. Check CH's web site for updates, and re-install. What happens in the device manager when you test it outside if FS? If it tests OK then, then FS might have a problem, but I expect its a bit more basic than that.

Good luck - let us know how it works out.

I've had problems in the past similar. One fix is to use default windows drivers and rid yourself of the CH software config. Just assign buttons thru the FS menu.
Doesn't always work but worth a try.

Thanks very much for the help. I will try as soon as I can. It's not easy getting past the wife on a Sunday. Lucky her rolling pin has not much effect on my Pickelhaube (always worn on a sunday when flying)...:d

Will report back sooner or later!!

Hey Mike,

If you have a joystick with a ton of buttons and turning slider knobs, then you might have one linked into the throttle. I have issues once in a while with my Xaitek. One knob on it, I assigned to elevator trim, while another knob tries to be it also. What I get is that sometimes the plane trims, sometimes it wont. I finally found out what the problem was by playing with all the knobs and finding the one that controls Trim also.

Thanks Bill,

You are probably right as there may be a conflict of control levers and buttons. Just a matter of trying to determine why now after all these years of good service. I get mad when anything to do with flightsim is in the fix-it bay and not in the air, perhaps that is why the missus is doing a lot of baking lately :icon_lol:.

Mike

UPDATE:- Back in the air - thanks guys.
