GSL File size limit?

Hi,

There are so many GSL packages out there right now; I'm sure some of you have them all installed right now. I've made a few whoppers for myself too.
Has anyone reached some upper limit yet?

How big is yours? Your cfs2.gsl that is..... :p

Sander,

Depending on the install, it ranges between about 1.3mb to 1.8mb.

Has anyone reached some upper limit yet?

I dunno if there is one. My installs look like this so far:

6.88 mb for CFS2 '44-'45 incl DEI and Asia
6.39 mb for main AAF/SWPTO (early to midwar)
6.37 mb for main USN/ALL PTO (early to midwar)
2.15 mb for Euro Western
1.51 mb for CFS2 MAW

Ok thanks for the replies. So if we combine everything in a single install that would likely not exceed 20MB; thats peanuts.

While we are talking about GSL: Does the number of objects in a particular GSL scenery effect frame rates?

Surely.

I've gone up to about 1600 objects in the visible area; don't remember how many gobs that covered. Anyway, what Maskrider suggested is not a hard limit but a guideline; it all depends on the complexity of the models, and whether they have good multi-LOD, the texture sizes, and the variety of objects.
