Gun Jams

Never had any gun jams when using Phase II so this is new to me. Any action the pilot can take to unjam his guns when they quit?

The only jam I had on an Albatros D II, disappeared after a while (when they had cooled off).
I was surrounded by Nieuports, and in my despair, tried it once more - and the guns fired! Bad for the Nupes...

Best to avoid them to happen: fire only short bursts.

Someone had landed on his field, and started again - guns were then working again. But if that's from the touch down vibration, or the ground crew helping, I don't know.

Have run into the gun jam once from a steadly pull on the trigger. I was so thrilled to finally be on the giving end of a shoot out I couldn't help myself..but..my jam never cleared and I got shot down...as usual... :crybaby:

A gun jam is the machine gun saying your firing to many at once. long bursts will stove pipe you.

The way I clear a jam is to climb out of the fight and at the same time tap the trigger, you may hear a "click click" sound this is a good thing. don't hold down the trigger it wont help... just keep tapping it. After a short time it will clear.

On one ocassion while tring to clear the MG, it fired one round and hung again unknown to me untill I had recommited to the fight...lesson learned?... check it to be sure its clear.

I haven't had too many gun jams because I try to follow the "short burst" rule. I've only had about 2 or 3 jams so far but high G manouvers seem to help a little in dislodging the stuck bullet.

Doughboy has it right:

You keep pressing the trigger as this simulates trying to unjam the gun. They will fire again gauranteed.

It might take a while or it might be right away.

it is modelled beautifully!

sometimes only one bullet comes out while trying to unjam, then eventually you clear it.

Ok, tried shorter bursts and that seems to have helped clear the problem.

My new problem is trying to end a mission. Flew to an enemy airfield, shot down some EA, strafed the hangars 'til I was out of ammo, then flew back to my home field, landed and just sat there. What do I hafta do to get the game to say, "Go to the officer's mess"? Under the Phase II game, as you approached the field, the game would announce all objectives attained and sent you to the mess.

Any hints would be appreciated.

At the moment you have NO control over it.That might be changed in a future patch.

See STICKY OFF Tips & Cheats . . Post #3 It's rather well explained :kilroy:

Well, Duh... thanks. And thanks for making this phase III so great. Nice to hear a realistic engine sound instead of the old "Lycoming Whine" also.

Lol no problem gl2t1a. We removed the CFS3 mission accomplished banner as for some people it caused a nose dive.. so it's history.

Gun Jams? It's really quite simple......

just take your 3 lb hammer that is tucked down beside your seat, ( I know, it can be a little uncomfortable,) and give the MG a few taps, not too much English now, and with a bit o luck, you'll clear that little bu**** out of the way.

Cheers,
