Gunsight with cockpit invisible?

I would like as an option that when I make the cockpit invisible to my eyes that I still have some kind of gun sight or recticule. Is that possible?

I belive f5 brings up the hud display, which incldes a gunsight.

if its not f5, its whatever key gives you the hud
 
Duck, F5 does make the radar thing appear and disappear but I did not notice any gun sight included.
 
KEYBOARD Use in OFF
Those functions marked with an ******* should be converted to single keystoke in Control Options on the Hanger Page. Because at a moments notice, you don't want to be messing around with 3 keys, also it's one heck of lot easier for your joystick to accept a single command, than a macro.

There are many single key commands, not used in OFF that can be utilized this way

Thanks gimp and I did copy that into a doc for later reference. However, I still don't have a solution for having my plane see through but still have somekind of gunsight. I suspect that is not possible with CFS3/OFF3 but don't know. Is that radar thing called the HUD or TAC or something else?

Gimp, I read thru the OFF Tips and Cheats. Copied some of the info. Will have to see if I can get that gun sight in CFS3 and try it there. Good stuff there.
 
Hi Guys,

the no VC view is there and you do have a gunsight, just hit F3 to go to the no VC view then hit F5 to bring up you guages and gunsight. if you then hit F3 again you'll get your cockpit back and you will see the gunsight dissappear, but the guages will remain.

Plus - you can mod the standard gunsight ( reticule_dds) to make it look however; I use a tiny red dot ( like Red Baron used to do ); and also, don't forget you can drag the sight with the mouse ( handy if flying a plane with an oblique gun - bristol fighter, be2c etc ). Use a prog. like gimp 6.4 to edit .dds files. Hope this is relevant!

That helped guys. I had no key assigned for HUD. So I gave it F6. Now I have the the different instruments show up and the gunsight plus the listing thing. More on that later. I figured out how to get rid of the instruments.

Hi Uriah,

your key assingment of F6 will overwrite the games assignment of F6 to change cockpit views for several aircraft. some of the planes that have missaligned gun sights use the F6 key to bring your veiw point in line with the gunsight, then when your done shooting you hit F6 again to go back to your normal view.

having used F6 for your no cockpit view means in your key assignment file you will probably have no key setting for what I mentioned above. simply fixed though just go in there and assign a new key for that task.

I love to lean over in the Bristol Scout, aim, ratatat, pepper them,...or not,:173go1: and return to normal position, to continue the flight.
