Gunther Rall moves on

RIP....go and join your squadron mates, from all nations, who have gone before you and who are waiting on the other side.

The interview at Smashing Time's link was interesting. I'll gladly live to age 91 if I can keep my sh*t together as well as Gen. Rall. I've noticed that older Navy fighter guys are also a pretty lively bunch, still able to have a drink or two and tell sea stories like they happened yesterday. Must be the O2 and the occasional adrenalin surges that give you an extra lease on life. :icon_lol:
I noticed he used the nickname "Heinie" for the He-111, that's the kind of thing you seldom notice in historical book narratives.

This truly is sad. Being a huge German WW2 fighter nut, I've read so much about this man. An outstanding pilot has passed to join his brothers in arms...RIP

RIP, sir.

I always enjoyed his interviews in the Wings of the Luftwaffe series on the Military Channel.

RIP Guenther Rall

Years ago I got a signed copy of his book. Great reading.
