Guy's ( Hubbabubbas next plane)

We all love hubbas vehicles, but I vote for a new plane. My suggestions:
de Havilland D.H. 87 Hornet Moth on floats
Arado Ar 79
Beech Model 17 Staggerwing
Caudron C.630 Simoun

He's the best CFS1 plane maker in the business, what are yor requests?

Lets let him know what we are looking for, ( he will never talk to me again after this thread is posted)

Yvan is the best, no contest here!

His visual models are the cleanest I ever saw. Bleedings are almost inexistent; you have no idea how a tour de force it is!

And his aerodynamics are well-thought, always "within the specs".

I really have only one aircraft to my credit, although the jeep is as much work as an aircraft.

Yvan has many and, being privy to his "work in progress", many more are in the prototype hangar.

He will dazzle you guys, I know this for sure.:jump:

Thanks for the vote, Hubbabubba.

I don't think there really is competition or "Best" here. Hubbabubba and I do things differently and generally hit different subject matter. (Sometimes WAY different!!!) We even bounce ideas off each other during projects.

For what it's worth, Hubbabubba is understating the amount of work that goes into his Jeep. From our discussions and some views behind the scenes, The Jeep is considerably MORE work than most aircraft. With aircraft, it is a fairly well determined path. The Jeep is just different in just about every way.

I have a bunch of really cool planes in the works but haven't released anything in a couple years. Lots of stuff is close, but nothing is quite "Done" yet. The standards also seem to keep getting higher (Thanks to Hubbabubba for that). Part of it is also getting discouraged by piracy and trying to find a way to defend against that.

The screenshots are of two planes I was flight testing last night. Both are close. Neither is quite ready.

Hi No Dice,

I decided to look up the planes you were suggesting. Of the ones listed, I am only familiar with the Beech Staggerwing. Two of them (The Arado, and Caudron) look very much like Hubbabubba's Taifun but for a paint job.

I have debated for a long time about whether or not to build the Beech 17 and which version to build after an article I was reading about a fellow named Cornelius Bermood (or Bermude or something similar) and his adventures with such a plane in China at about the same time as the Flying Tigers / AVG.

Ivan......

Beech Model 17L is the one I had in mind, just a beautiful aircraft. I think the model UC-43 may be what you are talking about ? My aircraft encyclopedia does not go much further.

Any plane you release will be fantastic though.

The problem with taking on another project is that both of us are always working on projects. I currently have about 4 going and I know Hubbabubba has at least one going.

What ??

:173go1:...you're kidding, right?

Me ? Kidding ???? How long can it take to put floats on a 47 , the army air corps should have done it back then. I figure at 18 hours a day for the next 3 weeks, then paint for a week, no problem.

Come on Smilo, even you could do that !

Dave www.thefreeflightsite.com

P.S. I like the old style background Smilo, It's as if I was never gone for so many years

not likely...it would take me longer than that
just to learn the program.
then, i'd have to learn the subtleties
that have taken Ivan and Hubba years to perfect.

actually, i have 2 aircraft that i gave up on
after many hours of work.
a me-309 and an a-20.
so, nope, it ain't in the cards for me.

currently, i am trying to design and build
a push ON/OFF, twist clockwise plus, twist CC minus, switch.
yes, i could go buy one for about $20,
but i need a bunch of them and besides,
what fun is it going out and buy them?

i was surprised to see the old page design
when i logged in last week.
it brought back a few memories, for sure.
honestly, i changed it to SOH default in short order.
the black is hard on my eyes
and it gave me a headache.

...and why the heck,
would you want to put floats on a p-47?
he said with a sparkle in his eye.
bait, bait

Because Ivan gets so technical

I actually would have requested a P40 on floats, but Ivan would have told me that the forward inersha combined with the lateral slide resulting from an underpowered structure ect ect.. would not make it a flyable contraption.

LOL

Dave

Y'know.... A better answer might be that the P-47 is just too heavy to float.
:icon_lol:
I think this is a better candidate for floats. Not enough resources left to do it right though.
