Hagochu's Japanese Fighter Packs

Eoraptor1

SOH-CM-2022
There are two of Hagochu's CFS2 Japanese fighter compilations converted for FSX available for download over at Simviation on their Vintage page. As far as I know they just uploaded today, Dec. 11. Has anyone been able to download them? I keep getting a File Parameter error.

JAMES

Thank you all for answering. So it's not just me. I'm always wondering if something is going wrong with my rig.

JAMES

After looking, the file uploaded name is Hagochu's2nd.zip. That comes out to this Hagochu%27s2nd.zip. I'm betting that the apostrophe in the file name corrupted the download.

I must say, I'm awfully interested about how a CFS2 model is "converted" to FSX.
The structure of the mdl's is quite incompatible. Unless if you have the original 3d models of course, then you can drop everything that has to do with the damage profile.

Interesting topic!

Cheers,
Mark

I'd like to know this myself. I was a bit surprised to find out it could be done at all. I have a converted DBolt F4U in my hangar, as well as a Ki-100 and a Jack. I know certain models can be converted from FS9 to CFS2 using mdlc, but I don't know how to bring one from CFS2 to FSX.

On the same page at Simv there's a an FsX pack of Ivan Hsu's Curtiss hawks which were also a Cfs2 set of models and they port-over nicely.

As far as I remember, CFS2 was accepting planes coming from FS2002. And FSX accepts some of those planes too.

Could you post some screenshots, showing some virtual cockpits please ?
I've never heard about those planes...

Back when I flew FS9 I had all of Akemi's aircraft in my hanger. They're pretty impressive, and were fun to scoot around the skies in. They aren't the same in FSX. Course, I wasn't expecting them to be. Back when I had CFS2 installed, they looked and flew like top notch models. Very realistic with great flying characteristics. Then the transition to FS9. Still a great looking and flying model, but FDE tweaks were needed in most cases. Installing them in FSX, lost almost all details in textures throughout. Although they seem to fly alright. So, don't expect too much.

What do you mean exactely ? I have never seen any aircraft getting texture detail problems in FSX.
Of course there are the usual transparency problems, but for the rest of the textures, I've never spotted anything wrong.

All I can say is you have to first experience the models in CFS2. Then try these same models in FSX to understand. Then you will see visually what I mean.

I'd imagine if that is the case, try removing the mip-maps? Dunno if that's the prob or if they even have them, but worth a try?

Also, if your looking for Japanese warbirds, try here...

Along with Akemi Mizoguchi; Daisuke Iga, Yasuhiko Sasaki, and Ryukichi Shimizu are all gifted artists, each with a distinctive personal style. Their work is a great gift the the FS community.
